GLANMORE NATIONAL HISTORIC HOUSE

Glanmore was designated a National Historic Site of Canada in 1969 in recognition of its exceptional Second Empire architecture. The grand interiors of Glanmore, including beautiful hand-painted ceilings and ornate woodwork, complement the exterior architecture.

GLANMORE NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE

A historic house museum that has undergone extensive site restoration to accurately exhibit what the house would have looked like in the 1880s.

GALLERY 121

Gallery 121 is a non-profit cooperative art gallery founded in 1991 by Quinte area visual artists to provide exhibition space for its members.

THE EMPIRE THEATRE
The Empire Theatre, which was transformed into a performing arts centre in 2002, not only hosts live concerts but is a cinema with 700 seats.

The Empire Theatre first opened its doors in 1938 as the McCarthy Theatre. It became the Empire in 2002 and has since been host to many live concerts in downtown Belleville.

The Belleville Waterfront & Multicultural Festival is a 42-year tradition, bringing people together through food + culture. Curbside Culture returns every July.

The Bay of Quinte RMB Land Acknowledgement

The Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board is committed to acknowledging, appreciating and understanding the Indigenous peoples’ historic connection to this land and to raising awareness by building relationships in collaboration with Indigenous partners and communities. 

We recognize and acknowledge that we are living and working on the traditional territory of the Wendat, Mississauga, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee which includes the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka (Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte) with whom we work in direct partnership with. 

This partnership focuses on the common goal of celebrating the region with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka who are equal partners within the organization and at the Board of Directors table contributing to the mandate and operations.

This mandate includes listening to, learning from, and collaborating with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka and actively incorporating their culture and heritage into the practice of responsible destination marketing and management of the region.

We understand that this land acknowledgement is only a small step towards the larger process of reparations and reconciliation.
