Hiking Trails

There are various trails throughout the Quinte region that contain beautiful views and scenery.  These trials have become quite popular and are great areas for relaxing walks and means of transportation.

Belleville has two very popular Trails -the Waterfront Trail and the Moira River Trail.

The Waterfront Trail begins at Wallbridge-Loyalist Rd and continues to East Bayshore Park. The main access points (with parking) are, East and West Zwick Park, as well as Bayshore Park-foot on Front St.

The Moira River Trail goes all the way through Belleville along the Moira River.  This trail provides great walking access to get around to shopping and multiple amounts of restaurants.

The Millennium Trail is one of Quinte's oldest recreational trails.  This trail was a former railway track that was converted into a multi-purpose trail used for running, walking, and biking.  Due to the Millennium Trail previously being a railroad the trail is extremely long.  Ranging from Carrying Place to the far side of Picton the overall distance of this trail is 49 kilometers, giving users a large area of transportation.

The Rossmore Trail is a fairly new one kilometer trail leading from Rossmore Park on County Road 28 to Bay Breeze Estates on the other side of Rossmore.  This trail was created for users to have a good environment to do recreational activities  and stay active.

The Wellington Waterfront Trail is located on the far southern edge of Wellington, right on the shores of Lake Ontario.  This trail bends and curves around the waterfront of Wellington, giving users a gorgeous view and an opportunity to get out and be active.

The Carrying Place Waterfront Trail, also known as the Twelve O'Clock Point Trail, is found on Twelve O'Clock Point Road and goes along the Trent Severn Waterway.  This is a nice trail with beautiful views and places to stop and eat along the way.  Twelve O'Clock Point Trail starts at Centennial park before going into Belleville then heads south into Prince Edward County ending along highway 33.

The Bloomfield Waterfront Trail  is located by Millpond Park in Bloomfield.  This trail has great scenery and this park provides users with a large area for recreational activity.
