Quinte West is situated on the shores of the beautiful Bay of Quinte, serving as the gateway to the world-famous Trent-Severn Waterway and its interlocking lock system. Quinte West — formed through the amalgamation of the former municipalities of Trenton, Sidney, Murray and Frankford — offers its residents and visitors a unique and dynamic mix of rural and urban lifestyles. The exquisite natural features of the City are complemented by a strong, vibrant and diverse economic base while also serving as home to Canada’s largest airforce base, 8 Wing/CFB Trenton.

Quinte West is located on the western end of the Bay of Quinte at the mouth of the Trent River, serving as the gateway to the Trent-Severn Waterway which connects Georgian Bay to Lake Ontario.

Sager Conservation Area

Frankford Tourist Park

Situated on a stretch of parkland along the Trent River in downtown Frankford, this Park is the centre for regional and special events. The park has a sandy beach area and playground, a covered picnic pavilion, and seasonal overnight camping facilities.

Batawa Ski Hill

In the Winter months they offer Skiing, Snowboarding, Rentals, Lessons and Winter Hiking/Snowshoeing Trails. Murray Canal

Cutting straight through the narrow strip of land connecting Prince Edward County with the north shore of Lake Ontario, the Murray Canal is an 8 kilometre canal cut linking Lake Ontario with the Bay of Quinte.

Trent Severn Lock System

Every lockstation on the Trent-Severn Waterway forms part of a historic navigation system that connects Lake Ontario to Georgian Bay. Parks Canada maintains and operates these national historic sites to make travel possible for boaters and paddlers along 386 km of waterway.

The Bay of Quinte RMB Land Acknowledgement

The Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board is committed to acknowledging, appreciating and understanding the Indigenous peoples’ historic connection to this land and to raising awareness by building relationships in collaboration with Indigenous partners and communities. 

We recognize and acknowledge that we are living and working on the traditional territory of the Wendat, Mississauga, Anishinaabeg and Haudenosaunee which includes the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka (Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte) with whom we work in direct partnership with. 

This partnership focuses on the common goal of celebrating the region with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka who are equal partners within the organization and at the Board of Directors table contributing to the mandate and operations.

This mandate includes listening to, learning from, and collaborating with the Kenhtè:ke Kanyen’kehá:ka and actively incorporating their culture and heritage into the practice of responsible destination marketing and management of the region.

We understand that this land acknowledgement is only a small step towards the larger process of reparations and reconciliation.
