Brighton and district, located along Hwy. 2 and easily accessed from Hwy. 401, is a fabulous tourist destination in any season. With the rolling hills of Northumberland County as a backdrop, Brighton is nestled right up to the sandy shores of Lake Ontario. The protected harbour provides excellent fishing and there are plenty of little shops to visit when staying at one of Brighton’s many Bed and Breakfasts.
Brighton is surrounded by orchards. Visit the Proctor House Museum to learn more about the area’s agricultural past, or sample local fruit found at roadside farmers & stands. Every September Brighton celebrates Applefest, surrounded by a patchwork of trees in vibrant fall colours. While in Brighton, travel along the Apple Route, visit the Big Apple in neighbouring Colbourne, or relax on the sandy beaches of Presqu’ile Park.
Come visit Brighton during the winter months for cross-country skiing, snowmobiling and ice fishing.
